SOMERSET, NJ —Parker at McCarrick, a post-acute rehabilitation and skilled nursing care residence located on Dellwood Lane in Somerset, was honored with a Five-Star rating from the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), which places the community as one of the top-rated nursing homes in the state. The star rating system was recently made more stringent by CMS.  Even with the more stringent system, Parker at McCarrick’s recent Department of Health annual survey yielded zero deficiencies, which is a high achievement that is rare in long-term care communities. Less than 10 percent of New Jersey nursing homes achieved a deficiency-free survey over the past year.

“I am very proud of the results our hard-working team earned during our recent survey,” said James Zauner, Administrator of Parker at McCarrick. “Ingrained in our organization’s culture is a commitment to find better ways to provide services and improve the lives of our residents,” he added.

Lisa Reiner, whose mother resides at Parker at McCarrick, recently wrote a letter to Zauner, which stated: “If not for the fantastic care my mom receives at Parker at McCarrick, she would not still be here. After her stroke, she could no longer stay at her assisted living. I found Parker at McCarrick and we could not be happier. They not only saved her live, they improved it.”

Another Parker at McCarrick resident remarked, “I am very impressed that there is a physician and an advanced nurse practitioner available daily to immediately address my concerns.”

Parker at McCarrick is a not-for-profit, 120-bed post-acute rehabilitation and skilled nursing residence well known for compassionate, quality care in a supportive home-like environment.
