Senior participants at Parker Adult Day Center uncover creative talent, new-found pride through arts program

National Adult Day Services Week (Sept. 15 to 21) was marked at The Parker Adult Day Center in Highland Park by showcasing the extraordinary artistic abilities of its participants which was produced through a new program.
 
Natalie Macaro, Director of Adult Day Center, explained that the facility strives to meet the needs of cognitive- or functionally-impaired senior citizens by providing activities that stimulate the mind, physical, social, and spiritual needs of participants.
 
One innovative program developed by recreation coordinator Carissa Keil-Sweeney has impacted the participants by sparking interest in the creative arts, and the pride that has resulted is just as beautiful as the artwork that has been produced.
