To be an effective health care professional requires the skills to assess and determine what options will best meet the basic needs of older adults and their families. This workshop provides a comprehensive review of the wide range of services available in the community to meet the needs of older adults and their families. The range, from in-home services to those provided by health care facilities, will be explored. Participants will learn the specific differences between the many options, keeping in mind that the care plan must also reflect the client perspective while promoting independence and quality of life.
