As our population ages, age-related cognitive decline, Alzheimer's disease, and other forms of demential threaten to reach epidemic proportions within the next several decades. Of paramount importance is to develop both treatments and prevention strategies. In this presentation, the evidence that certain vitamins (folic acid, vitamin B12, vitamin B6, and vitamin D) can slow or prevent age-related cognitive decline will be reviewed.
