Teenage Volunteers Digitized Music for Residents

Kiran and Kalyani Balkaran, age 17 and 15 respectively, volunteered their time this summer, working at Parker for five and a half hours each workday to digitize over 300 music CDs and create playlists for our new Music and Memory program. Research shows that when elders are provided with music that they loved in the past, they become far more animated and engaged.
